Regina feels something solid and paper-like hit her back, and she suddenly regrets ever deciding AP US History was a good idea.

She whips around in her seat, mindful of the teacher’s attentions, (who was, thankfully to her academic career, focused on his own work for the time being), and gives the paper ball assailant a withering glare. One that was known to make nearly anyone cower in her seat, and just about the only thing she was grateful to inherit from her mother, just for times like these.

Summary: It was a crazy summer. One of those that either keep you so excited that you know you will never forget them or so drunk that you hardly even remember them at all. For Emma Swan and Regina Mills, it was a little bit of both. Sprinkled with some love, that summer made a mix as close to perfect as possible. But everything comes to an end and - even if it was something neither of them wanted - so did those careless months. Great promises and heated confessions seemed to mean nothing when September ripped away their dreams and hit them with reality.
They thought it was over.
They thought they’d never meet again.

Emma Swan works hard every night as a bartender, struggling to raise her son and save up enough to own her own bar. Regina Mills is an upper class New York photographer who wouldn’t normally spare a second glance at people below her. When their paths cross, their lives adapt to each other, but how much are they willing to change?

Five minutes, Emma promised herself. She’d go in, say hi to Regina, see what the big deal was with their fancy champagne, and get out of there. She’d tell Ruby what she wanted to hear, but like hell Emma was going to actually mingle with these people.

She walked through the open doorway easily enough. The group of people chatting by the door paused their conversation just to gawk at her, but Emma simply grinned, waved and kept walking in.
